How do I know when to replace my gutters?

If I get a new gutter system will I still need to clean my gutters?

You will need to clean your gutters periodically to get rid of tiny debris. Gutter protection systems are effective at preventing leaves and twigs from clogging your system. However, they can’t keep tiny debris out. The guards themselves have holes to let the water through – meaning anything else that is the size and shape of the holes will also pass through.

How can I tell if my gutters are draining properly?

The best time to check if your gutters are draining properly is during periods of rainfall. If there is water pouring over the sides of the gutter, then there may be a blockage or the gutter itself may not be properly aligned. If you are unable to check when there is actual rainfall, you can look around the gutter for any signs of water buildup or damage to the home.
