In order to best help you, our service team often needs to know which window we need to look at — and if you need to buy multiple windows in the same room, identifying each one can become tricky. That's why we place identification stickers on every one of our windows, so we can take the confusion out of the situation.
All Renuity window units feature an identification sticker on the inside of the frame, used to denote certification and identify specific details of the window. This guide explains what information the sticker contains and how to locate it on every window type we install.
The sticker on your Renuity window contains the window's size, glass package, manufacturer, and the full specifications of the unit — everything our service team needs to order the correct parts or match an exact replacement.
The sticker also carries NFRC (National Fenestration Rating Council) certification data. The NFRC is an independent organization that tests and rates window performance, and their label appears on all certified products. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, every NFRC label displays the following ratings:
The label also lists the manufacturer's name, product line, and window type at the top, making it possible to verify the exact unit at a glance.
The sticker location differs depending on the window type, because access to the inner frame depends on how each window opens. The steps below cover double-hung windows — the most common type in our lineup — followed by guidance for other styles.
Casement windows are hinged at the side and crank open outward. The identification sticker is typically located on the sash rail — specifically the bottom rail of the sash — and is only visible once the window is fully open. To find it:
Slider windows move horizontally along a track. Like casement windows, the sticker becomes accessible once the sash is moved. To find it:
Fixed windows do not open, so the sticker must be located on the interior frame perimeter without moving any sash. Check along the top and sides of the interior frame. The sticker is typically affixed to the frame surface inside the room, near the top edge.
If the sticker has been removed or is no longer legible, there are a few other places to look. Manufacturers sometimes etch identifying codes directly into the glass or into the spacer bar between double-pane glass units — inspect the glass edges in good light, using a magnifying glass if necessary. Hardware components like the lock mechanism or lift handle may also carry a stamped logo or part number that identifies the manufacturer and series.
